Dr. Panagiotis Pantos
MD, MSc, PhD, Orthopedic Surgeon - Sports Physician
Dr. Panagiotis Pantos is the Director of the Orthopedic Clinic, Upper Limb Surgery Department, at the Athens Medical Group (Marousi) and the Scientific Director and Head of the Upper Limb and Sports Injuries departments at “Osteon” Orthopedic & Spine Clinic. He holds a PhD from the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (EKPA). He returned to Greece after a ten-year career in Germany, where he worked as a Senior Physician (Oberarzt) and Deputy Director (Ltd. Oberarzt) in leading Orthopedic Centers.
He was born in Athens and he graduated from the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (EKPA) in 2002. In addition to his clinical work, he is a clinical trainer for students at the European University Cyprus (EUC), contributing to the education of the new generation of doctors.

He specialized in Orthopedic Surgery & Traumatology at the 1st Orthopedic Clinic of Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (EKPA) from January 2007 to January 2012, under the direction of the Professors Mr. Panagiotis N. Soukakos, Mr. Aristeidis V. Zoumbos, and Mr. Panagiotis I. Papagellopoulos. He was trained in Upper Limb Surgery and Microsurgery Clinic at the General Hospital “KAT” from May 2010 to November 2010. During his medical specialization, he underwent six months of clinical training in Germany at Klinikum Bad Salzungen, Klinik für Unfallchirurgie und Orthopädie.
After successfully passing the written and oral exams in February 2012, he obtained his specialty degree in Orthopedics and Traumatology.
He holds a Master of Science (MSc) degree from the National School of Public Health specifically on “Public Health,” following one year of attendance and the presentation of a thesis with a grade of ‘Excellent’.”
In January 2013, he was awarded a PhD in Medicine from the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (EKPA) with the grade “Excellent”, after completing a doctoral thesis titled: “Rheumatoid Arthritis and Total Knee and Hip Arthroplasty in Greek Patients. Clinical and Epidemiological Correlations.”
He is a certified Orthopedic Surgeon by the European Society for Surgery of the Shoulder and the Elbow (SECEC), in recognition of his specialization in shoulder and elbow surgery.
He holds a Football Medicine Diploma (Football | Soccer Medicine Advanced Course) from the Academia Clínicas Espregueira – FIFA Medical Centre of Excellence.
After completing his specialty, he practiced as an Orthopedic Surgeon in Germany, initially from October 2012 to December 2015 as a Senior Physician in Orthopedics – Traumatology, at the Shoulder Surgery Clinic, Asklepios Klinik Seligenstadt.
From January 2016 to September 2020, he served as Deputy Director of Orthopedics – Traumatology at the Shoulder Surgery Clinic, Klinik Maingau vom Roten Kreuz in Frankfurt, Germany.
Since June 2020, he has been the Director of the Upper Limb Department at the Athens Medical Group (AMG), in a clinic with top specialists in all orthopedic subspecialties.
Since 2025, he has been the team physician responsible for upper limb injuries and conditions of MAROUSSI Chery.
